Looking at the Mr. Coffee Brand

A Brand that Popularized Drip Coffee

Mr. Coffee has become as necessary to some people’s morning as the daily paper and a plate of doughnuts. In fact, some people use the words “Mr. Coffee” as a generic term to describe all coffee makers.

According to a New York Times’ article, Mr. Coffee is largely responsible for the coffee maker revolution. One that saw the percolator being replaced by the more practical automatic drip-type of coffee makers.

The company has been around for quite a while and its branding is as strong as Walmart to America’s ordinary families. Longevity is certainly a proof of a brand’s stature its ability to consistently deliver and please its loyal customer base.

But as important as history is, current performance means even more. Let’s take Nokia for example. The brand itself used to command utmost respect among cell phone users. I still recalled how my Nokia 8250 was able to survive for at least 5 years for most people. But these days, do you see any good Nokia phone around? Not anymore, I guess.

Industry and Consumer Recognition

The best measure of a brand’s strength is obviously its satisfaction among consumers. This is well reflected in most Mr. Coffee coffee maker reviews where lots of consumers often rave about their Mr. Coffee brewers and how they have been sticking to the brand for years.

Mr. Coffee is one brand that continues to solidify over time. This is best reflected from the various industry awards and consumer surveys that put Mr. Coffee as among the best coffee maker brand.

Truly a No-Frill Brand

When you’re looking at Mr. Coffee, make sure you know what you’re looking for. A number of Mr. Coffee coffee makers are undeniably popular. But if you compare the prices of Mr. Coffee brewers, you’d find that they are relatively less pricier compared to such brands as Cuisinart and Bonavita.

Being a no-frill brand, Mr. Coffee coffee machines are usually basic in functionalities. For example, it doesn’t have the water filter feature that the Cuisinart DCC-1200 has.

If you need a brewer to save you from the expensive Starbucks or Dunkin cups of coffee, Mr. Coffee brewers are definitely up to the task. But of course, I’m assuming that you have a good grasp on the variables that contribute to the making of perfect brew. And that you’ve not skipped any of the essential preparation stages (eg. grinding your beans just before brewing).
